Silver Lining Playbook
After a stint in a mental institution, former teacher Pat Solitano (Bradly Cooper) moves back in with his parents dad (Robert De Niro) and tries to reconcile with his ex-wife. Things get more challenging when Pat meets Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence), a mysterious girl with problems of her own.
Pat Solitano was battling a mental disorder related to bipolar out bursts and it wasn't until we walked in on his wife cheating on him with one of his co-workers until we finally cracked. after spending over half a year in a mental institution he returns home where he begins to try and patch things up with his ex wife who he believes is still his sole mate. as the film moves on it is apparent that he is not in the right mind frame but through a friend he meets (Tiffany) he is given hope. She agrees to help him try and convince his ex wife who happens to have a restraining order against cooper that they are still soul mates if in return he participates in a ballroom dance with Tiffany. Tiffany's husband dies which results in her own mental issues and the two characters in turn gradually begin to heal each other. This film was filled with amazing acting, romance, comedy, as well as gives the audience a sense of appreciation of life. Please watch the trailer and let us know what you think. Thanks!

For our first Blog i wanted to introduce a movie that has been in theaters for a few weeks now called Gangster Squad. Gangster Squad's main characters consist of Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn), Sgt. Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling), Grace Faraday (Emma Stone) and Sgt. John O'Mara (Josh Brolin). The film is based in Los Angeles in 1945 where mickey Cohen plans to take over the city through organized crime and blunt violence. Sgt. John O'Mara is approached by the cities chief of Police to create his own crime stopping team through any means necessary. O'Mara teamed up with Sgt. Wooters (Gosling) begin to crack down on the organized criminal actions set forth by mickey Cohen. Mickey Cohen retaliates thus creating an inner city war between cops and criminals. A romance develops between Wooter and Mickey Cohen's mistress Grace Faraday played by Emma Stone. this romance leads to more drama within the film as well as an inner struggle within Sgt. Wooters.
This movie appeals to the Tristate College student because it consists of many entertaining aspects a good movie must obtain such as violence, suspense, romances, and action. Sean Penn is nothing short of excellence taking on the role of Mickey Cohen a power hungry violent crime boss. Please watch the trailer and let us know if you have either seen the movie and enjoyed or did not enjoy it or would like to watch the film after reading my blog.
