Warm Bodies

Warm Bodies
PG-13, 1 hr. 37 min.
Comedy
Directed By: Jonathan Levine

The movie I will be reviewing today is warm bodies which is based upon the novel by Isaac Marion. This film is a romantic comedy that takes place in society where zombies have overrun the world and human survivors struggle to exist. While this scenario seems like the perfect place for an action thriller or horror flick this script goes in a whole new direction. The films protagonists are Nicholas Hoult as “R” and Teresa Palmer as Julie who I think did great with their roles. The story is about a zombie named “R” who saves a girl named Julie from a zombie attack and them having a relationship. They both work together to keep each other safe and learn to see life through each other’s eyes.  While I appreciate a more interesting attempt at a romantic comedy I feel like the concept is lacking. Upon watching the movie I felt like the author was attempting to romanticize zombies as twilight has done with vampires. The movie has some comical points but overall is an average film that you see it once forget about it.

Movie 43

Movie 43 is a comedy that came out in 2013 starring famous actors such as Halle Berry and Hugh Jackman. The movie is put together with a bunch of short stories and or skits as result of this in my opinion caused for a lot of confusion while watching. There was no structure within the movie therefor as a viewer it was not very entertaining. This is a short review because the movie did not have a lasting impression on me and i would not recommend it to any Tristate college students. Feel free to watch the trailer and give feedback on your own opinion.
P.S. do not be fooled by the trailer which at first glance may seem funny but unfortunately outside of the trailer there is no more funny scenes.

Olympus Has Fallen

Olympus Has Fallen
This new action movie was released on March 22nd of 2013 and stars Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman, and Aaron Eckhart. This movie has grossed $71.2 million so far in the box offices. In this movie, the White House has been taken by a group of terrorist and the President along with a few other important members in the U.S. Government. The U.S. national security is on the brink of losing until a hero rises from out of the blue. Overall, I thought this was a good movie, a little predictable for the avid movie watcher, but still good. It was action packed and worth every dollar. I would recommend this movie, especially to see it in the theaters. As for the college students, I would not recommend this movie for a first date, but it would be a good choice if you like action and you plan on seeing something with a group of friends. If you have not seen the trailer yet, check it out….http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWnt2exFm1o
