Warm Bodies

Warm Bodies
PG-13, 1 hr. 37 min.
Comedy
Directed By: Jonathan Levine

The movie I will be reviewing today is warm bodies which is based upon the novel by Isaac Marion. This film is a romantic comedy that takes place in society where zombies have overrun the world and human survivors struggle to exist. While this scenario seems like the perfect place for an action thriller or horror flick this script goes in a whole new direction. The films protagonists are Nicholas Hoult as “R” and Teresa Palmer as Julie who I think did great with their roles. The story is about a zombie named “R” who saves a girl named Julie from a zombie attack and them having a relationship. They both work together to keep each other safe and learn to see life through each other’s eyes.  While I appreciate a more interesting attempt at a romantic comedy I feel like the concept is lacking. Upon watching the movie I felt like the author was attempting to romanticize zombies as twilight has done with vampires. The movie has some comical points but overall is an average film that you see it once forget about it.

  1. i haven't seen this movie, but i remember watching the previews on tv and it did look like an average movie. The zombie concept is really starting to become popular i believe because of the tv show walking dead. And this movie is something that a person will put on if there is nothing else to watch.
